The Big Ask Virtual March

The Big Ask Virtual March

Friends of the Earth wanted to mobilise public support for a strong climate change law, and ask people to lobby government. The resulting campaign was the world's first virtual march. Visitors to the 'Big Ask' website were able to upload their own protest videos, and mail local MPs. The site also featured an ever-changing film, directed by Sam Brown and Kevin MacDonald (The Last King of Scotland). It was designed around a montage of user-generated footage - with guest appearances from Jude Law and Stephen Fry. More than 170,000 people participated in the 'march' - the UK's biggest-ever action for climate change.
